General Information

The Consul General, through the consular Team, exercises certain notarial functions as per Italian legislation. Essentially, it is the registration of public deeds, such as powers of attorney and wills, notarial deeds, and signature authentications affixed for private writings. Such functions are provided exclusively for Italian citizens that are abroad on a permanent basis or temporarily. Exceptions are made in the case that citizens and non-citizens participate in the proceedings, as the element of Italian citizenship of at least one of the parties is considered prevalent.

Alternatively, the Italian citizen abroad can formalize the deed with a notary, whose signature must be subsequently legalized at our Consulate General.
