Italian Design Day

Italian Design Day

Italy is set to celebrate the importance and centrality of Italian design by launching the first ''Italian Design Day'' in history.
100 cities from every continent in the world will simultaneously host a number of initiatives including meetings and seminars in which Italian designers can share insights with designers from host countries.

Italian design is remarkable for its wealth of creativity, both tangible and intangible, and gets its well deserved reputation from a variety of unique characteristics including its creativity, originality of design, quality of materials selected, streamlined production methods, environmentally friendly production processes and packaging graphics and advertisements, all of which contribute to its outstanding global reputation.

Italian design has always been open to the world's influences and Montreal, one of the world's major centers of design, has been selected as one of the cities to host "Italian Design Day".

The Montreal event, scheduled for Thursday March 2 at 11 am at the Ecole du Design de l'UQAM, 1440 rue Sanguinet, Montreal, will feature a round-table discussion with Italian and local designers. Admission is free.
