On 29 May, Farnesina hosted the event “Roots tourism”, organised in agreement with the Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation (DGIT), the Raiz Italiana association and Asmef.
The conference was dedicated to the travels to Italy of compatriots and Italian descendants to rediscover their origins, cultural and crafts traditions, and wine-gastronomy. The event was attended by representatives of politics, academia, business and associations.
This tourism strengthens the links between our country and the enormous Italian community abroad (estimated between 60 and 80 million people). It also allows the influx of resources for the preservation of our patrimony through, for example, the consumption of craft products “of nostalgia”.
