We wish to inform you that we are making every possible effort to further strengthen this important sector and reduce waiting times for bookings.<\/p>\n<p>We also inform you that new passport appointments are made available at the beginning of each month. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation and invite you to read the important information below before booking a slot.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT INFORMATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Adults<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Minors under 12 years of age<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Minors between 12 and 18 years of age<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications must be submitted to the competent office according to territorial jurisdiction<\/strong>: in Italy, to Police Headquarters (Questure) or Police Stations; abroad, to diplomatic-consular representations. This is therefore a service that our Consulate General provides to Italian citizens registered with AIRE at this Consulate General.<\/p>\n<p>Italian citizens registered with AIRE and residing in the provinces of <strong>New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador<\/strong> may also submit a new passport application at the Honorary Vice Consulate in Halifax. The Honorary Vice Consul will receive the application and will collect biometric data (fingerprints, photo, signature). For information on jurisdictions and contacts of the Honorary Network, <u>click here.<\/u><\/p>\n<p><strong>Only for citizens aged 70 and over,<\/strong> an alternative booking service is available. Please refer to the dedicated page: 70 Plus.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>In case of proven and urgent necessity<\/u><\/strong> (health reasons, work, theft or loss of the only travel document, etc.), send an email to <a href=\"mailto:passaporti.montreal@esteri.it\">passaporti.montreal@esteri.it<\/a> \u00a0attaching any document useful to determine and prove such necessity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The following fall under proven and urgent necessities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>non-deferrable work needs<\/strong>, supported by a justified request from the employer,<\/li>\n<li><strong>study\/training <\/strong>needs duly documented by the involved institution\/organization\/university;<\/li>\n<li><strong>serious family reasons or personal health issues<\/strong>, certified by a general practitioner or a healthcare facility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>As regards holiday or tourism travel, users are strongly advised to carefully check the expiration date of their travel document before making any booking (flight, hotel, etc.).<\/u><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Urgencies<\/u><\/strong>: if you fall into an urgent situation that requires the issuance of a travel document within 24 hours, from Monday to Friday you must contact the passport office via email with the subject <strong>\u201cURGENT TRAVEL DOCUMENT\u201d<\/strong>, describing the nature of the urgency and providing the following information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>First and last name<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Telephone number<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., you must instead, as usual, contact the emergency mobile number at +1 514 240-9991.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dear fellow citizens, We are aware that, due to high demand, passport renewal appointments are quickly booked up.
