The public official shall first ascertain the identity of the person underwriting&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The most frequently requested authentication services\u00a0at the Consulate General are the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Signature authentication<\/strong>: the Italian citizen must come in person at the Consulate General, by appointment, with the deed or document on which the signature will be affixed, along with a valid identification document.<\/p>\n<p>The appointment must be booked through the application system &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/prenotaonline.esteri.it\/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fdefault.aspx&amp;cidsede=100038\">Prenota Online<\/a>&#8220;. For the signature authentication, Art. 24 of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/consmontreal.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/altri-servizi\/albo-consolare\/tariffe-consolari\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Table of Consular Fees<\/a>\u00a0applies. Payment is accepted <strong>only in cash in Canadian dollars<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Photo authentication<\/strong>: consists in the attestation by a public official that the photograph is that of the person concerned, along with their personal information: name, surname, place and date of birth. The Italian citizen must come in person to the General Consulate, by appointment, with a valid identification document and two identical photographs to be authenticated.<\/p>\n<p>The appointment must be booked through the application system &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/prenotami.esteri.it\/\">Prenot@mi<\/a>&#8220;.
