The Italian Consulate in Montreal is participating in the campaign promoted by UNWomen to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which falls on 25 November.
The aim is to highlight Italy’s commitment to protecting and promoting women’s rights, as well as fighting all forms of gender discrimination and violence, a central pledge in our country’s foreign policy, which has also been reaffirmed through the recent adoption of the fifth national plan for the implementation of the UN agenda “Women, Peace and Security”.
As a voting member of the United Nations Human Rights Council starting in 2026, Italy will pay special attention to preventing and eliminating violence against women, a priority issue for all of us.
