Please note that at the Consulate of Italy in Montreal is active the computerized portal “Fast It” (Farnesina Telematic Services for Italians abroad), available in Italian, subject to user registration, at the following link:

It is a digital platform created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to allow nationals living abroad to register at the A.I.R.E. and quickly communicate any changes of address and consular district.
Consultation of consular data
Only at the first consultation of consular data, will be required to make the “Online Association” of the Fast It profile with the consular card, loading an identity document. (Procedure illustrated in the Tutorial in PDF formatTutorial in PDF format.)
The documents to be prepared before using the services of “Registration all’Aire” (also in case of change of consular district) and “Change of residence” in the same district of the portal “Fast It” are as follows:
- a copy of the Italian passport or a copy of the valid identity card;
- proof of permanent and legal residence abroad (e.g. registration with the Canadian Authorities, or other legal proof of residence).
Remember to include in the form also the other members of the household residing at the same address (e.g. spouse and children) and their documents.
It is advisable that all members of the family over the age of 18 complete a model registration, or put their signature under that of the applicant. Photocopies of the identity document of the foreign spouse should also be attached.
Requests that do not meet the criteria will be rejected by the operator.
The files initiated through “Fast It” can be consulted online, and it is the responsibility of the individual citizen to access with their user and password to know the status.
