Italian Research Day in the World and Made in Italy Day: “Space Waves: Music, Research and Made in Italy Technology”

PRESS RELEASE

On the occasion of the Italian Research Day in the World and the Made in Italy Day, the Consulate General of Italy in Montreal organized the event “Space Waves: Music, Research, and Made in Italy Technology” on Tuesday, April 8th at 6:00 PM at the Hotel Le Cantlie Suites.

The event was opened by the Consul General Enrico Pavone, who highlighted the innovation capacity of the large community of Italian researchers in Quebec, emphasizing their dynamism also in the commercial field. The Scientific Attaché of the Italian Embassy in Ottawa, Professor Costanza Conti, also gave a speech, emphasizing the important role played by Italian researchers in Canada, referring to them as “scientific ambassadors” of our country, and encouraging them to network more among themselves and with the various components of the Italian system.

After the initial greetings, professors and researchers from four of the main local universities took the stage: Andrea Gozzi (Université de Sherbrooke), Nicola Giannini (UQÀM), Gianluca Grazioli (McGill University), and Simone D’Ambrosio (Université de Montréal). The four speakers guided the approximately 100 guests through an interactive and immersive journey to discover the latest innovations in sound technology.

The event also provided an opportunity to showcase two Italian startups in the sector: Mezzo Forte, specializing in the production of bone conduction headphones and the creation of immersive audio content, and Auraltech, active in the field of virtual reality with 3D audio. A dedicated room was set up to allow guests to experience the products during the final networking cocktail, which facilitated informal exchanges among the many researchers, entrepreneurs, and young professionals present.
