Homage to Gilles Villeneuve

On May 8th, 35 years ago, Gilles Villeneuve died in a tragic accident during the qualifying session of the Belgian F1 Grand Prix of 1982.
Villeneuve raced for Ferrari, which had taken him to Formula 1. He was esteemed by the great Enzo Ferrari and was beloved by millions of Italians (and not only).
Because Gilles Villeneuve, Canadian and Quebecois, seemed Italian in many aspects: creative behind the wheel, determined even in bad luck, always prone to risk. This is why his figure still evokes respect, emotion and passion in Italy.
It was a perfect combination between Villeneuve and Ferrari, another strong link had been established between Italy, Canada and Montreal.
35 years after his disappearance, the Consulate General of Italy in Montreal, along with the Club Ferrari and Ferrari Quebec, will pay tribute to the legendary Gilles by going to Berthierville, with the following program:
9:30 am meeting in front of Ferrari Maserati Quebec 3980, rue Jean Talon Ouest
10:00 am departure for Berthierville
11:00 am arrival at the Hotel de Ville, greeting of Mayoress Suzanne Nantel and signing of the honor roll
11:30 am tribute at the grave of Gilles Villeneuve
12:00 pm visit at the Gilles Villeneuve Museum
We expect many Ferraristi, Ferrari fans and especially friends of Gilles!
