The Italian Scientific Community in Canada (CSIC) – Quebec section, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal, will organize an evening of scientific dissemination and a public meeting to celebrate the Day of Italian Research in the World. The event will be held on May 3 at the Italian Cultural Institute of Montreal from 6 pm to 8 pm.
During the evening, after the speeches of young Italian PhD students, a few keynote speakers will address the audience: Federico Rosei of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique with a speech on “Energy and society: the future energy for humanity”; Stefano Stifani (McGill University) who will talk about “Personalized medicine for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis”; and Chiara Piazzesi (UQAM) who will cover the topic “Gender inequalities in the academic world and research”.
The CSIC, which will illustrate their program for the second half of 2018 during the event, is an association which welcomes Italian scholars and researchers arriving in Montreal, and encourages collaborations between Italy and Canada, cultural exchange between Italian researchers and professionals in Quebec. The association will soon be providing scholarships and travel grants.
